Leeds and Birmingham stars included in Championship TOTY/Marcelo Bielsa misses out on manager award

The Championship Team of the Year, Manager of the Year and the nominees for Player of the Year have all been announced this evening.


Despite there being 8 fixtures remaining in the Championship season, and the battle for all of the title, playoff spots and survival still very much underway, a number of the division’s finest performers have this evening been rewarded for their showings throughout the campaign with a spot in the Team of the Year.

The English second-tier’s finest XI is decided on by the managers of all 24 Championship clubs.

This year’s selection features a trio of players from league leaders Norwich, two each from 2nd and 3rd-placed Sheffield United and Leeds, along with one representative from all of Middlesbrough, Wigan, Hull and Birmingham:

The Manager of the Year award, meanwhile, has been handed to Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder, with the Blades currently sitting in 2nd in the Championship table, 4 points adrift of league leaders Norwich:
